scene 5: stolen sights from untamed lights.

fade to:

int. dark room - night

from the blackness, the camera slowly focuses in on james's mouth again, this time it is closed, covered with duct tape. he is awake, but barely, as if he's done struggling. there is only a little bit of dim orange and blue light on james's lower face and the little we can see is hesitantly pushed to the bottom right of the frame as the camera jarringly pans up and to the left.

the camera reveals a pair of twin men dressed in pinstripe suits in line with each other holding pool cues. the twin closer to the camera is wearing glasses, while the other is not. this is their only difference. the twin farther from the camera kneels down out of frame. as the camera gets to them, the twin sans glasses brings his arm down from his ear displaying he had been on a cell phone. the cell phone beeps and he puts it in his pocket.

the camera pulls back to uncover the room they are in, smoldered in the same orange and blue light that glazes over james's face. it is an ancient and partially-abandoned billiards room, complete with pool table, an overly loaded rack of pool cues and much more hovering in the darkness that envelopes the majority of the space.

james's eyes follow the kneeling twin's pool cue as it inches toward him as he sits on the ground leaning up against a pitch black wall of darkness. for the first time, we see that his legs and arms are also restrained, pulled behind his body.

twin sans glasses
there are six of you, yes?

james stares intensely at the pool cue, then at the twin sans glasses, but he neither nods nor shakes his head.

the twin with glasses sighs quietly, walks away, and begins to rack up balls on the pool table.

twin sans glasses
look, obviously something went wrong. you were our in, but then the girlfriend decided to stick around. so, this brings us to an unfortunate ultimatum. you need to tell me whether or not she's one of the six. now wait -- think for a second. there's obviously a high probability that you will lie to me. so if you tell me she's not one of the six, we bring her back here so that she doesn't go off and tell somebody stupid, like the police, and we get to keep her just in case you lied to me. now if you admit she is one of the six, sure it lets us know we've got one more, but i'm going to give you and her the advantage--

the twin sans glasses takes his cell out of his pocket and begins texting.

twin sans glasses
--i will text my contact whose residence she's currently sobbing at and tell him to let her go and allow you to send said message--

the twin sans glasses cautiously and creepily gets close to james, then, at a glacial pace, unpeels the duct tape off of his mouth. he then leans back a little bit and holds up his cell phone at eye level.

twin sans glasses
--it is voice activated. all you have to do is say--

so as not to activate the cell, the twin sans glasses merely voices the word "send," with over exaggerated lips.

james raises his head a little bit, but does not say anything -- yet.
